New kit...
Hello again beautiful people. How was your weekend?? Mine was pretty good. I spent half of Sunday with a group of friends and their small people running around one of those places full of good stuff for kids. Jumping castles and playgrounds and mini trains. It was awful and wonderful all at the same time. It was lovely to see my small person enjoying herself so much with her friends. We played mini golf and ate fish and chips. I had to rescue my little from the highest point of an amazing climbing structure with my dress hitched in my knickers. It was hilarious.
I also picked up some new kit. A tripod and a real camera bag. One that will hopefully keep my camera safe from future knocks.
To celebrate and to practise using my tripod I set up a little photo shoot this morning. These are a couple of the dresses that I have made for myself over the last few months. The summer dress shown worn with a cardigan and worn under a jumper. The Frankie-Sunday dress with a cute little bow clipped in under the collar.
All dresses are made by me. The tights are from country road and my amazing boots are available from Lotta from Stockholm. I have a feeling these clog boots wont be leaving my feet this winter as they are ridiculously comfortable, they give me a tiny bit of height and they go with everything I make and own. I love them.
I am just a bit excited, waiting for the postie... New fabric in the mail today... Lots of it.

this week...
Hello hello! Happy Saturday beautiful people. So far this weekend we have enjoyed yummy wood fired bread slathered with butter and Vegemite and drunk lots of coffee. WE did have a play date this morning with some gorgeous friends, but we had to cut it short on account of my small person being RIDICULOUSLY grumpy. I think she might be getting a cold, so I have decided that we will not be leaving the house today. We will instead rug up inside and watch movies and drink tea. Just the two of us.
This week has been amazing. The change in weather has seen me recommit to my crafty pursuits. I have that bee in my bonnet were I just want to get. things. done. When I get this way I become very anti-social, all I want to do is stay at home and sew. NO procrastination here. My small person has also benefited from my resurgence of energy and now has three new dresses hanging in her wardrobe and a few other projects in the wings...Yesterday I cut fifteen dresses that I plan to have finished by the end of next week.I worked so hard that I had to go for a run on the beach in the late afternoon. I needed the wind in my face and the sand between my toes to ground me.
As many of you are sure to agree, a sewing obsession goes hand in hand with a fabric obsession... I have found myself once again relentlessly searching for fabric. I am very lucky that so many lovely ladies want to buy my dresses as it is all that supports my fabric addiction. I am expecting about 6 million parcels to arrive on my doorstep this week, each one full of new cottons, barkcloth, vintage sheets and similar. I cant wait to show them off...
AND I have been opportunity shopping at every opportunity... Yes I have found some treasures. Probably too many to list and way more than this little pink shack can hold (One day soon I will be hosting garage sale, and you are all invited...) Some of the standout treasures I have acquired over the last week or so include five rolls of vintage wallpaper, the most amazing set of glasses I have ever seen and a leather handbag that I ADORE and paid less than ten dollars for.
Apparently I have made a few new friends this week via sharing on Pinterest and Tumblr and Facebook. So I want to say a big welcome to you all and also thank you for taking the time to stop by and have a read. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer. I love to hear from you so please don't be shy to leave a comment and say hello. I have recently changed my comment settings due to spam, so you must be a follower of the blog in order to comment. I hope this doesn't prove to be a massive pain in the bum...
Have a fabulous weekend xxxx

Introducing frankie-sunday!
After a Friday of playing around with different collars, I have a new dress design to offer you. I am calling this the frankie-sunday dress. It features a sweet peter pan collar, a pleated waistline, full skirt and a sensibly short length. It doesn't show off quite as much leg as the sleeved summer dress. A perfect dress for any time of the year! I am looking forward to layering it with tights and boots and sweet cardigans as the weather cools down.
Talking of boots. I have had my eye on these burnt orange, suede riding boots for a couple of months. After writing my last blog post I jumped in my car and drove straight to town to try them on. I wore them all weekend with my new dress and cute little ankle socks. I'm feeling inspired to get a few outfit shots for you, as soon as I pick up my newly repaired camera (yes, its broken, again...)
So the weekend was a big mish-mash of market shopping, basket buying, garage sale-ing, breakfast eating, late-night visiting, afternoon napping, sandcastle building and house cleaning... There was a garage sale across the road from my house on Sunday morning where I found this incredible antique bed that I just couldn't leave behind and also this very lovely old sewing machine. Its in need of a service but it is so very lovely.
Late yesterday afternoon I was struck by a gnarly tummy bug, I hear there is a nasty 24 hour thing going around at the moment. So rather than feeling refreshed after an amazing weekend I am feeling sore and achy in my bones and joints. And a little weak. And a little bit sorry for myself. Boo hoo. I am definitely feeling better than I did last night, so I am sure I will be back to myself in no time.
I hope you are well and happy, wherever you are in the world. Bec x

snuggle-town!
It might be 30 degrees and humid, but I am in snuggletown! The fresh mornings and grey skies have me dreaming of cooler days. I have dug out the crochet hook and a massive sack of wool that I collected from the opshop. The wool only cost me a couple of dollars, and so far I have completed a beanie and started an infinity scarf. Nothing too fancy yet. I have been scoffing big bowls of chunky vegetable soup and drinking hot mocha's made from instant coffee and milo :) The open windows are carrying the smell of rain and grass and wet road through my home, with big billowing puffs of lace curtain. I have started day dreaming about woolly tights and new boots. YES, I promise I will make the most of the sunshine while its here, but after a long and full summer I am ready for a cool
change....
P.s - I have a new design in the works....

February...
I know I have become a LAZY blogger. But life has been anything but. I have been thrifting up a storm. Collecting loads of new goodies for my home and fabric for my sewing. I have been hitting the beach, dabbling in stand-up paddle boarding along the bay and swimming with the small person. I have a table full of dresses cut that I cant wait to get stuck into. And I have been sending out custom orders. I have made a few of the amazing new barkcloth design and it is my absolute favourite at the moment. I am excited to get a few more made to offer as ready to ship pieces. I will let you all know when they are available. I have even picked up the crochet needle and am brushing up on my skills watching you-tube tutorials. My internet troubles seem to have been resolved, for now, fingers crossed it stays that way. I am itching to get back into the bloggersphere. Who has any new favourite blogs that I should check out?? Please let me know! Thats it in a nutshell. Hope you are well and wonderful and happy. Lots of love, Bec x

granny hangers and other stuff - oppy finds
I'm sitting at my dining table, enjoying the dappled afternoon sun. The windows are open and the breeze is carrying in the smell of a barbecue dinner from somewhere, maybe being cooked by one of my neighbors... The smell is making me hungry and bringing back memories of my long Australia Day weekend. Its the perfect end to a busy day of domestic chores.
I hit up a few op-shops on my way home from Perth yesterday. Once again I managed to find a car load of thrifted goodness. That is two weeks in a row!! New crockery, fabric, nick-knacks and all manner of vintagey delights were piled high on my dining table. Today was a perfect day to dust off my shelves, do a spot of re-arranging and find new homes for my lovelies. In amongst the cleaning we made cupcakes, napped, drank tea and watched a movie. It wasn't far off from domestic bliss....
I was surprised to turn on the TV after a weekend of Australia day celebrations to learn about the Queensland flooding. My heart and thoughts go out to all of those affected. Please keep safe and look after each other. I will be looking at auctioning a dress for the purpose of fundraising in the near future. If anyone knows of a good fundraising host please let me know.
