home sweet home...

For the last couple of months since I left Pannawonica I have been shacked up with my generous mumma and step-dad. It has been lovely and they have made us feel more than welcome in their home, but nothing compares to having a space of your own. When a close friend of mine offered me her beach shack for a couple of months while she visited family interstate - I leapt at the chance.

Late yesterday afternoon I arrived here with my car full of fabric loot and my sewing machines. I spent the night putting together flat pack furniture and upending boxes of fabric. I brought all of my vintage kantha quilts, hand-made pillows and tins full of lace and trims.  I haven't finished putting everything away yet, but I am sure as you will see from the photos that I will make myself quite at home here, even if it is just for a short while....

My stylish friend has left me a beautiful space. Last night I slept with the window open to the sound of the rain and the ocean. Apart from being woken by the odd gust of wind and a possum or two, it is very peaceful and serene here.

Time to set up the machines and let this space inspire me. I have two big wedding orders coming up. A handful of twitter dresses to make and a stack of about ten dresses that need to be wrapped for shipping.

I hope your week is off to a productive and inspiring start.

  1. It's nice to see a bit of chaos my place looks a lot like yours but it's clothes ready for folding and putting away thrown across the couch. A kitchen bench set up for sewing which never seemed to happen today lol.
I'm really glad things are settling for you and working out. It's important to have a sanctuary especially when you create and work at home.
Really glad you liked the link up on Poppyfoxathome.blogspot.com.au, it was really fun writing it.
