my very first post...

I have been addicted to etsy since about July last year - 2 months before the birth of my baby girl, Zavian Rose.

I could spend hours filling my basket and emptying it again, rarely actually buying anything.

To be honest whenever I find something I love, I will most often try to figure out how I can make it for myself. Not because I don't like buying things that other people have made - I LOVE things that other clever humanoids have made. Its just that I don't have very much spending money... Hence my etsy shop - to get the spending money - I hope.

Since I have been exploring the online craft world I have been so inspired. I have stumbled across the most amazing craft blogs full of the most gorgeous photos and I thought, I want to be a part of this...

Today was wet and stormy. So I took advantage of being locked in and took some photos of the newly finished quilts I have for sale in my very own etsy shop.

Zavian was hamming it up for the cameras as well. That is her cute little head just peaking out from behind that green blue quilt there...

I don't think I will use her in the shop pictures. She was looking pretty grubby in last nights pyjamas.

I can't believe that on Sunday she will have her first birthday. This also means that I have been sewing again for just over one year since I left work on maternity leave...

So I am still learning this quilting craft - and I am planning to master it one day. And this blog, I hope, will serve as a tool to help me learn and develop my own style. I am really looking forward to meeting some new friends and learning some new tricks. All comments are welcome!
So I will end this post now, my first blog post, how exciting, I wonder if anyone else will read it?? If you are reading this now I hope this finds you well, wherever you are... xoxox

  3. Hiya !! I am a huge fan of your gorj dresses and blog, and like a lot of my blogland/craftyworld idols I like to take a trip back to their very first posts to remind myself that everyone started somewhere, like I am. It inspires me to keep going with my sewing and recycling vintage so thank you for being an inspiration. Your sugar shack is a dreamy place I could only dream of living in one similar here in NZ. & I am so pleased you have gone so far in only a few years. well done. CHeersss!!!!! Sarah

  4. Let's start at the very beginning a very good place to start. I was looking around on interest and saw your beautiful vintage dresses and after looking through a few of your posts just had to come back to the start so it didn't feel like reading a book backwards. You are inspiring and this is a wonderful way to spend Mother's day, with a craft blog and a cup of tea
