this week...
Hello hello! Happy Saturday beautiful people. So far this weekend we have enjoyed yummy wood fired bread slathered with butter and Vegemite and drunk lots of coffee. WE did have a play date this morning with some gorgeous friends, but we had to cut it short on account of my small person being RIDICULOUSLY grumpy. I think she might be getting a cold, so I have decided that we will not be leaving the house today. We will instead rug up inside and watch movies and drink tea. Just the two of us.
This week has been amazing. The change in weather has seen me recommit to my crafty pursuits. I have that bee in my bonnet were I just want to get. things. done. When I get this way I become very anti-social, all I want to do is stay at home and sew. NO procrastination here. My small person has also benefited from my resurgence of energy and now has three new dresses hanging in her wardrobe and a few other projects in the wings...Yesterday I cut fifteen dresses that I plan to have finished by the end of next week.I worked so hard that I had to go for a run on the beach in the late afternoon. I needed the wind in my face and the sand between my toes to ground me.
As many of you are sure to agree, a sewing obsession goes hand in hand with a fabric obsession... I have found myself once again relentlessly searching for fabric. I am very lucky that so many lovely ladies want to buy my dresses as it is all that supports my fabric addiction. I am expecting about 6 million parcels to arrive on my doorstep this week, each one full of new cottons, barkcloth, vintage sheets and similar. I cant wait to show them off...
AND I have been opportunity shopping at every opportunity... Yes I have found some treasures. Probably too many to list and way more than this little pink shack can hold (One day soon I will be hosting garage sale, and you are all invited...) Some of the standout treasures I have acquired over the last week or so include five rolls of vintage wallpaper, the most amazing set of glasses I have ever seen and a leather handbag that I ADORE and paid less than ten dollars for.
Apparently I have made a few new friends this week via sharing on Pinterest and Tumblr and Facebook. So I want to say a big welcome to you all and also thank you for taking the time to stop by and have a read. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer. I love to hear from you so please don't be shy to leave a comment and say hello. I have recently changed my comment settings due to spam, so you must be a follower of the blog in order to comment. I hope this doesn't prove to be a massive pain in the bum...
Have a fabulous weekend xxxx

ReplyDeleteIt's been ages since I left a comment, so firstly sorry. Secondly how wonderful to hear that your sewing mojo has returned. I have sheets in the same print as your daughter is wearing. I have quite a collection these days have actually talking myself out of buying more even when I've had them at the counter at the op shop. Crazy I know. I've even had fleeting thoughts of having a destash. Crazy I know. Then I've thought about having someone make some maternity items out of some. Goodness I don't know, I'm rambling.
ReplyDeleteAnyway it's nice to see and hear your going on's and those glasses are sweet by the why and great score on the bag too.
The sleeves on your little ones dress are just the sweetest.
ReplyDeleteLoving all your latest op-shopped treasures.

Sounds just like I feel during a change of season. I am hanging out for the Easter break so I can stay at home and potter in the garden and sew and cook and bake and just be.
ReplyDeleteWell hello there - I've just stumbled on over here and am very pleased to meet you. Looking forward to catching up with the rest of your blog x Jane (serious bag envy going on - what a bargain!)
ReplyDeleteLove your dresses; they make me very nostalgic. When will your store open again? Do you ship to the states and what are your prices in US dollars?
ReplyDeleteLove your dresses; they make me so nostalgic. Wondering if you ship to the US and what your price range is in US dollars? Thank you
ReplyDeleteYour little one's profile would make a great silhouette picture. Seriously love your fabric finds. Cherrie
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Just found your blog (from Facebook) and I think it's incredibly neat; I paricularly love the teal/yellow fabric in the stack in this post-- what are you doing with it!? Skirt I hope? ;)
