lace dress for India...
Today was a sewing day.
I finished this lace dress for a lovely miss named India. I also have about 15 other dresses cut and ready to finish this week.
If you are waiting on a dress, I am up to orders placed between the 31st of March and the 6th of April...
In other news, I am SO annoyed with Australia Post. I have had two very disappointed ladies contact me in the last week with missing parcels. I am thinking that I will need to make courier post with a signature upon delivery just a standard part of my order... It is too painful to know that all that time and effort that goes into a dress has gone to waste - let alone the gorgeous fabric!!
Anyway, its another sewing day tomorrow, with Zavian in daycare, so wish me luck :) Hopefully I will get through HEAPS of work - and bring my wait time down a bit...
Hope you are well and happy and fabulous, wherever you are in the world...

Ode to "Shabby Vintage Junk"
I am slowly getting sorted!! I have collected so many new fabrics lately that I have had to buy industrial shelving for the spare room just to store part of my collection.
I am always on the look out for pretty new storage solutions, so when I witnessed this old cabinet being dropped of at the local oppy, I practically ran inside to bags it, before anyone else had the chance. It was one of those "heart-stopping-lump-in-your-throat" moments. I knew that it would be perfect. Lucky I did race for it, by the time I drove my car around the front to pick it up the lady could have sold it five times over.
I picked it up for a song, just ten dollars, plus the ten I spent on metal fly wire to replace to glass doors. My most wonderful dad spent the day putting in the fly wire for me, and it suits the cupboard perfectly.
Miss Tamarah over at "shabby vintage junk" would be proud, I'm sure :)
Anyway, I have been trying to take a few nice pictures, but it seems that my small person has left a permanent smudge on the lens of my camera - another one bites the dust! I have also managed to squeeze it into a part of the room that is obscured by another wall, that leaves a constant shadow across it... Oh well.
Any who.... I am re-arranging the studio. Trying to make it function again. I have spent the last 2 months sewing on the kitchen table, and the house is chaos. I have invested in some plastic storage tubs to separate my scraps, one for every colour of the rainbow, so now I must remember to sort as I go.
Well I am off to bed.
Hope you are well and happy, wherever you are.

Hello ladies!

These are the lovely ladies I finished today, ready to post tomorrow!!

This fabric is so heart-achingly beautiful. It feels so soft and is perfectly faded. Luckily there is enough left over for me to make one for myself if I have the skirt a bit shorter...

This dress is a perfect example that sometimes you don't need the prettiest fabric to make a pretty dress...

I had an awesomely productive day, finishing heaps of dresses - THANK BLOODY GOODNESS!!!! I am right on my 8 week wait time. Luckily, I have just completed the last of the orders from the Frankie rush, I still have a lot of orders to finish, but from here on it should be an easier load to manage.
What a ride!! It has meant lots of late night sewing sessions, a messy house, 3 million cups of tea and too many ginger bikkies. Thanks all so much for your patience, encouragement and support!! What a dream come true it is to be able to work from home doing what I love!!
In other news I have already started another quilt. High on the success of my first attempt at a large quilt, and excited to use my new fat quarters from the swap, I stayed up late on Monday night and half finished a new quilt top. I will share some photos of that tomorrow.
Yes well - I know that I have a lot of projects on the go. That's just how I roll. I'm sure that there is a saying out there about fingers and pies that would be relevant to me...
Any tips on Rag rugs?? Please share - this is my first attempt and I am open to advice.
I hope so much that you are well and happy - wherever you are...
