A new design...
hello!!!!! How are you all? I hope that you are having the most fantastic weekend EVER!! Maybe you are making lots of stuff?? Or eating heaps of yummy food? I bet that if you live any where near me you have spent your whole weekend inside rugged up against the stormy weather.
My poor mum-in-law, who has been living in a groovy caravan in our back yard,. has had very little sleep due to the torrential rain, howling wind and thunder-clapping right above us!! It has been amazing - I LOVE this weather... My mum in law normally loves this weather too - but it has all been a bit much what with her caravan leaking - the door blowing wide open at 3am scaring the socks off her - plus her hot water bottle EXPLODED!
I have had my real mumma here too. So it has been a mum filled weekend. I took full advantage of the granny babysitters - spending some time on a new design that I have been promising to one very special (and patient) customer... I am happy to say that the new dress is a success - and it is my new favourite!! I thought that it was so special that it deserved 6 million photos... So here they are :)
Once again I hope you don't get sick of my face. The pictures of me in the studio - yes they are a little bit self indulgent - but I liked them.
This new dress has some lovely features... BIG POCKETS! a twirly whirly flared skirt that is very flattering on the waist. A neat new neckline and a zip up the back. This makes for much more comfy underarms!! YAY!! This new dress will not be available for custom order. I am going to make them up as ready to ship for sale in the shop - until I am confident enough to make them on demand.
Well this is too long! I'm sure you are quite bored now.
Lots of love!! MWAH!

my week so far... sort of.
Now I am leaving a whole lot out - gloomy weather has been in the way of me taking any great photos - so I have been embracing the instagram snapshots...
To sum it up - I have had a very productive dress making week - with at least ten dresses that will ship tomorrow.
I am also working on a fun little project - hand stamped badges - either to pin on like a brooch - OR MAYBE - I was thinking you could sew them on to your apron and collect them like a 'brownie' or a 'girl scout'!!!!! What do you think? I am very excited by the idea - personally :)
The 'lets make whoopie pies' badge is for the lovely miss over at Kit and Nancy who has been wonderful enough to give us a recipe for carrot cake whoopie pies on her blog this week.
My mum is here, so I have to stop being rude and get off the computer.

foggy mornings... and foggy minds
Lately I have not been awake much earlier than 8.30 in the morning... This is mainly due to being awake in the middle of the night tending to my small person or sitting at my sewing machine. But every few weeks I have to wake up before the sun to take my love to the airport. He works FIFO for a mining company here in Western Australia.
Even though its hard to get out of bed I am always happy to see the sky change colour as the sun slowly rises. This week was especially magical because of the thick fog that surrounded the car as we drove down the highway...
On the home front - I am happy to report that the studio is back to working order and that the dining table is clear and ready for family meals. It is not yet ready for a before and after though - I don't know how I thought I could possibly have it organised in one weekend. Madness!!
Wish you could all be here to take care of the things I am getting rid of - I am so sad to see it go - and knowing that it would end up in good hands really does take the sting out of parting with treasures... But out with the old and in with the new... Or at least the new to me.
I do have a tip-shop-visit planned in a couple of weeks...
Hope you are ready to face the new week!!
Mwah!

Something has to change...
Yesterday I received some exciting news - I'm sorry I can't tell you yet - but it means I need to get organised...My house has been taken over by my studio.
I need to make some tough decisions...
Some things have to go.
I have made the decision that sewing at the dining table, because I can't reach my sewing table, is no longer an option.
Today I started sorting through my studio. I am being ruthless. Lots of rubbish for the bin. Car loads of stuff for the op-shop. Boxes full of treasures to be stored away until the day comes that I can rediscover them - perhaps in a home of our own.
This weekend will see my studio transformed from a 'useless, colourful mess' to a ' beautiful, functional work-space'
I plan to be away from the computer this weekend... But I promise some (hopefully) wonderful before and after shots...
Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned.
Mwah!!
P.s - I am not pregnant if that's what you are thinking...
